anitadb 's Thoughts:

we have all read those EIU posts saying “shop your parents’ closet: dad’s old shirt looks fab on me as a dress” followed by photos of a girl, thin as a spider, wearing a shirt just half a size bigger than hers. Yeah, right. That’s too easy if you have a thin, elegant Asian father who plays the piano sipping kukicha green tea. If you’re the daughter of a tall, XXL Italian pasta-eater bear, that’s the real challenge.
I went for a fashion raid in the attic and found this old plaid shirt dad used when he worked as a farmer. I liked the blue-green pattern so i tried it on. No way. I looked like a homeless wearing a picnic tablecloth.
And no, i can’t wear it as a dress. It’s very wide, but still too short to wear with just a pair of leggings. I don’t know where these girls work, but i certainly can’t go to the shop with my ass in the air. We don’t want the elderly guys to have a heart attack while buying their bread, do we?
Not that I would show my backside anyway, i’m very ass-shy, courtesy of the original Mediterranean Cellulite™ : no matter how much weight you drop, it will stick with you. Forever. I believe if they open my grave in 2112 they’ll find a skeleton with two doughnuts of cellulite around the thighbones.

thank you, it's a Daks bag and pretty much the only bag i have. I wanted a bag that could go unnoticed so i bought it. :)

holy shit at your writing! lovely photographs and most probably the funniest thing I've read on chictopia. I could quote my favorite passages but there wouldn't be enough room. the little vignettes you sketch with your words...

haha. i may be a twig, but my father's certainly not! (and definitely not elegant enough to sit at our piano and sip green tea. more like....ready to fall asleep in front of the TV.) and while i'm too - er - old and stuck in my non-color ways, i do love seeing color done right (e.g. your burgundy sweater). very nice.
